Overview of Nairobi National Park, Kenya

The Nairobi National Park, known as the “world’s only wildlife capital”, is 117 sq. km Park is situated about a short drive of 7km out of Nairobi’s central business district. It was the first park to be gazetted in Kenya on December 16th, 1946. It is the only wildlife park that is so close to the city. Numerous types of animals, including the critically endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes, and a varied birdlife with over 400 species reported, can be found in the broad open grass plains with the backdrop of city scrapers and scattered acacia bushes. 

The park has three campsites, picnic areas, and hiking routes for visitors to enjoy. The Climate here is hot and dry from January to March, hot and wet from April to June, and extremely warm and wet from July to October. You can do various park activities here, such as camping, corporate and special events, game viewing, and picnics.
